Green Farm Coffee host barista competition at The Nest

On Friday 24th of March, partners Green Farm Coffee hosted a barista competition at The Nest to crown East Anglia's best barista!

Last week, partners Green Farm Coffee hosted a barista competition at The Nest.

The competition saw six of East Anglia’s best baristas put their skills on display to see who would come through with the best brew, testing their coffee knowledge, speed, and art skills.

The first round was the ‘order round’. This saw baristas make an order of five drinks to the best of their ability and in the quickest time. Speed and consistency was key here.

Then followed the fans’ favourite, latte art round. This round required baristas pour two matching lattes for the judges using both dairy and dairy alternative milk.

The best barista with the highest scores across both rounds would go on to be crowned “East Anglia’s Best Barista” and take home a Gaggia home barista set up worth £1650 and free coffee for a year for their business – congratulations to Taylor, photographed below!

Ross McIntyre, Technical Coffee Manager for Green Farm Coffee said:

“Holding ‘East Anglia’s Best Barista’ competition in the Inspire Space was a great experience.

“When planning the set-up and event day including our unique power requirements for the event, nothing was too much trouble for the team at The Nest.

“We were looked after brilliantly on the day and the facilities on-site really added to the quality of the competition we held and the competitors were just as impressed as we were when first looking at the room.

“Working with The Nest is something we are very proud to do at Green Farm Coffee and we are looking forward to working together more.”
