The Community Sports Foundation are delighted to announce that Phase 4 of The Nest’s development is on the horizon— with the submission of planning permission for three brand-new padel courts, developed in partnership with Chaplin Farrant and RUA.

From disused site to an ever-expanding community, the Community Sports Foundation transformed the former Anglian Windows Sports and Social Club site on Holt Road into what is now The Nest—a vibrant community sports and wellbeing hub.

Launched with the Build The Nest campaign in 2018, and championed by Foundation Chairperson, Jake Humphrey, the project attracted incredible support from funders, local businesses, and football legends. Highlights included a star-studded charity match at Carrow Road and the epic CanaryBall Rally to Milan, all helping raise vital funds.

Since then, The Nest has grown through multiple development phases:

  • Phase 1 (2018)
    • Seven new grass pitches, refurbished clubhouse, and residential bunk boxes opened
  • Phase 2 (2020)
    • A new 3G pitch, Challenge Woods, and The Hub community building were completed—despite the challenges of the pandemic
  • Phase 3 (2024–2025):
    • Official opening of The Lauren Hemp Community 3G Pitch, The Box wellbeing facility, and The Store for sustainability, along with four EV charging stations.

With the submission of planning for three brand-new padel courts, this latest milestone represents a major step forward to the site’s continued evolution as a hub for accessible and community-led sport and the Foundation are currently seeking funding investment to support the project.

From grassroots pitches to inclusive health spaces, The Nest is a testament to community power, built to inspire generations through sport, support, and opportunity. To find out more about Phase 4 click here.
