Colo Colo Soccer Academy stay at The Nest

This October the Colo Colo Soccer Academy, from Florida, USA, joined us for a week-long residential stay at The Nest. Our visitors made the most of the fantastic facilities at the Nest, as well as taking time to explore Norwich and the surrounding areas!

Last week, working with NSX Sport, the Nest played host to a team from the Colo Colo Soccer Academy, a Florida based training function catered towards developing and nurturing young and aspiring footballers.

The group of two coaches and 16 players arrived in Norfolk on Monday afternoon and participated in an array of footballing activities both at the Nest and away from the training centre. The young soccer fanatics received professional coaching from Community Sports Foundation coaches Ryan Jarvis and Simon Lappin on the new 3G pitches, making the most of the state-of-the-art facilities available at the Nest to work on and improve their footballing abilities.

On Wednesday, our American visitors received the exciting opportunity to ‘fly the Nest’ and visit Carrow Road for a full stadium tour. The youngsters were shown around the pitch and the media room, as well as a sneak peek into the first team dressing room and listened eagerly as the tour guide gave them an engaging insight into the Canaries’ rich history. The tour concluded with a visit to the club shop, where a few of Colo Colo’s young academics treated themselves to a souvenir City shirt.

During their stay, the team also made the most of the recently renovated Challenge Woods, using the fantastic outdoor facility for a team building session. The outdoor area provided the youngsters with an alternative activity to football and gave them a deserved break away from the pitches.

Our visitors learnt a lot from their stay, both on the pitch and off it, and returned to Florida on Sunday eager to share their experiences with friends and family back home.
