New Clothing & Textile Donation Bin at The Nest
New clothing and textile donation bin in place at The Nest
Visitors to The Nest can now donate their unwanted clothing and textiles onsite, thanks to a new donation bin installed to the left of the clubhouse.
Provided by Kids Just Recycle, a recycling initiative dedicated to educating younger generations about the importance of recycling and caring for both the local environment and the wider world. An initiative that aligns and mirrors The Nest’s own sustainability values.
What you can donate
The new bin is able to accept a wide range of textiles including:
- Clothing – except sportswear / kit!*
- Towels
- Bedsheets
- Curtains
- Shows
- Sleeping bags
All donations are hand-sorted and graded by Kids Just Recycle, then sent to communities across Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia, where they provide affordable clothing options for families in need. Kids Just Recycle also work with organisations in the UK, supplying blankets and sleeping bags to homeless charities such as Wrap Up London.
Each time the bin is emptied, the Community Sports Foundation receives a donation, meaning every bag dropped off will also help the Foundation’s vital work supporting and inspiring our community across Norfolk.
Items the bin cannot accept
To keep the recycling stream clean and usable, please note the following items must not be placed in the bin:
- soiled rags
- carpets or rugs
- glass
- metal
- paper
- general rubbish
*Important: Sportswear and equipment donation to come to The Store
Please don’t place any sportswear, sports equipment, or kit in this bin! These items should instead be brought to The Store, where they can be sorted and sold. Proceeds from the sale of these items go directly towards supporting Community Sports Foundation programmes.
