Wellness on Wheels bus visits The Nest

On Thursday 15th February, the Wellness on Wheels bus stopped by The Nest, to offer its free health and wellbeing services to anyone who required a check-up.

The Wellness on Wheels bus (WOW) was originally introduced back in 2021 in partnership with Norfolk Integrated Care System and Voluntary Norfolk as a means of offering free COVID-19 vaccinations to the homeless community in Norfolk and Waveney. Since then, the bus’s use has been adapted, and it now has a primary focus on wellness.

The WOW bus offers alternative health and wellness appointments to people who may not have access to support or check-ups in the traditional sense and is made easily accessible by making regular trips across the county to recognisable locations.

There was a warm welcome for the bus at The Nest on Thursday morning, with the Foundation’s Head of Places Amber Coe not hesitating to offer out her praise to the Wellness on Wheels team:

“The work the team do on the WOW bus is simply fantastic – we were really lucky to welcome them to The Nest. It’s important to provide support to people in our community who may not have direct access to healthcare and the way the WOW bus brings regular wellness check-ups almost directly to people’s doorsteps is really special.”
