Our six grass pitches can accommodate a range of dimensions: from 5-a-side through to 9-a- side. All of our grass pitches are kept in excellent condition and are tended to regularly.

 

Facilities

The Nest is the ideal venue for football training and hosting matches. Our site includes the following facilities:

  • Changing rooms – including disabled
  • Hub Café
  • Car park – up to 250 vehicles, including disabled parking
  • Toilets
  • Catering for match days

Previous Events

Our grass pitches have been used for football training by various football groups, including the Canada Women’s National Football Team.

The Nest also has previous experience hosting football tournaments, such as the Norfolk and Suffolk Youth league finals in April 2022 – 2025, making it a great venue option for grassroots football tournaments.

How big is a 5-a-side, 7-a-side and 9-a-side pitch?

In general, pitch size can vary but the recommended dimensions tend to be as follows:

  • 5 a side pitch – 40 yards (36.5m) long and 30 yards (27.5m) wide
  • 7 a side pitch – 60 yards (55m) long and 40 yards (36.5m) wide
  • 9 a side pitch – 80 yards (73.1m) long and 50 yards (45.7m) wide
