Armed Forces Day returns 28th June

The Nest Gears Up for Norwich City Community Sports Foundation’s Second Annual Armed Forces Day Celebration

The Norwich City Community Sports Foundation is proud to announce the return of Armed Forces Day at The Nest—a vibrant celebration honouring current and former members of the Armed Forces and their families. Set to take place on Saturday, June 28th, this community event promises fun, recognition, and connection in a family-friendly atmosphere. Tickets just £1 per person.

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, the Foundation is once again inviting the Armed Forces community and friends to join for a day filled with activities, entertainment, and shared appreciation. Hosted at The Nest, the Foundation’s community hub, the day kicks off with gates opening at 11:00am, followed by an impressive military parade at 11:40am, led by the City of Norwich Pipe Band.

“We are proud to once again mark Armed Forces Day at The Nest,” said Neil Hall, Armed Forces Champion at the Foundation. “It’s an opportunity to honour past and present service members with a day of celebration, connection, and recognition. We’re excited to continue growing this into a cornerstone of our Armed Forces support programme.”

A day of celebration for family and friends

Visitors of all ages can enjoy a range of exciting attractions throughout the day, including:

• Inflatable games
• Face painting
• Treasure hunt and access to the Challenge Woods adventure playground
• Metal detector fun
• Delicious food from Churros + Chorizo, serving their popular burgers and churros

Honouring service and promoting wellbeing

The day is also about celebrating wellbeing and strengthening social ties among those who serve and have served. A key highlight is the Forces2Canaries Over-40s Walking Football Tournament—a friendly six-a-side competition designed to encourage activity and camaraderie. Spectators are warmly encouraged to cheer on the players and enjoy the spirit of the game.
