Visit from the Chair of Norfolk County Council

Last Thursday, Cllr Stuart Dark, Chair of Norfolk County Council, paid a special visit to The Nest to meet volunteers working with Duncan’s Club—a vital community initiative run by the Foundation that supports people living with dementia and their families.

During his visit, Cllr Dark took time to introduce himself to the group, warmly thanking the volunteers for their dedication and impact.

“To all the volunteers here today, I have a very simple message for you,” he said. “Thank you. You’re brilliant.”

He praised the volunteers for the vital role they play in strengthening and connecting the local community, highlighting how grassroots efforts like these are essential to creating a more inclusive and compassionate Norfolk.

Following his time with Duncan’s Club, Cllr Dark was given a tour of The Nest, taking in the wide range of facilities that support the Foundation’s mission to change lives through sport, inclusion, and education.

We’d like to thank Clld Dark for his time. The visit shone a spotlight on the power of volunteering—and the difference that just a few hours of time and kindness can make.
