Introducing Run Foundations

With Run Norwich fast approaching and more people discovering a love for running through local communities such as Run & Reset, runners can often be heard saying:

“I know I should be doing strength work, but I have no idea where to start.”

Run Foundations, delivered by Vicki Hall at Move Reset Norfolk, is a supportive 4-week course designed to help runners build strength, confidence and resilience alongside their running.

Whether you’re training for a specific race, returning to running after a break, or simply enjoying being more active, this course will help you understand what your body needs to support your running journey.

This isn’t a bootcamp, and it’s not about lifting heavy weights or chasing personal bests.

Instead, Vicki will focus on simple, practical exercises that can help you feel stronger, move more efficiently and build confidence in your body.

Over the four weeks you will explore:

  • Why runners need strength training

  • Squat and hip hinge fundamentals

  • Single-leg strength, balance and stability

  • Calf strength, power and force absorption

  • How to create a simple runner-strength routine that fits around your life

The sessions are designed to be educational, supportive and accessible. No previous gym experience is needed, making them ideal for beginners and experienced runners alike.

Running is a fantastic way to improve physical and mental wellbeing, but looking after the body that carries you is just as important as the miles you complete.
